Ends and Beginnings

First trip to Rome: ok. Most recent trip to Rome: fantastic.

Anguria gelato was a little harder to track down this time, but my favorite little place on Via Serpenti is still there and still serving amazing gelato. Henry introduced me to a new place somewhere between the Pantheon and Via Del Corso that has little chocolate 'seeds' in their Anguria (known also as cocomero). What's green on the outside and red on the inside with little black and white seeds? Oh, that's the fruit of summer, of course.

I snapped a little something and some of those photos are now online.

We presented a little something. We ate a little something. I shopped a little something. And then I flew home and cleaned my house because it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Furniture is covered with sheets, valuable books are hidden from the sun, things are tidy, I'm gone for the summer.

Oh, but now it's back to Central California. A place where traffic jams are still novel, meat is the primary foodstuff, and internet cafes can actually get away with charging dollars an hour.

In a mood of high motivation I drove three hours both ways to have lunch with some friends at the Google offices yesterday. On my way out of their parking lot I apparently almost ran over the person who makes the Google logos. Is there a Google mafia? We should hope not, or I may be a target of Google-Bombing in the near future.
