A half eaten hamburger, rim of crusty vitamins on a glass of v8; "you have square glasses"; gas and coke; cartooning; sparkling, nestle, glistening; blue accent lighting; the world's worst DJ; chocolate on my pillow; a table on fire; old friends; all the best things.
Parts of Indianapolis demonstrate a Roman understanding of the luxury of spatial experience. Near the state museum there is a government facility with a strong axial promenade leading to the statehouse. Walking along those porticos I felt that it was truly a place of giants. Despite my distaste for the stylistic execution of the project, the spatialness of it was overwhelming. This is exactly what civic architecture should be like and it was such a pleasure to find in Indiana.
