City VS. Country

The most entertaining line of late goes to Rena for "c'mon folks, redirects are free." It's sad, but that made me laugh and laugh.

Also, since I'm discussing other people's content, I used to think it weird to see Adam mention the kiddy pool events of last summer. It seems to come up a lot in his writing, as if the memory sticks in his head as some sort of pivotal moment. I never knew why. Today, seeing him mention it another time (indirectly) I realized that it was a pivotal moment. It was a really good day. It was a good day on a scale that you rarely see. Unassuming, unplanned, short-lived and, ultimately, a thin veil over sad events, it comes back to us because it was perfect.

I made a shoe out of packing tape and holga prints to satisfy our "shoe self portrait" assignment. Inbetween the layers of tape I added Holga pictures of Hong Kong, Palo Alto, Paso Robles, Pebble Beach, San Francisco, and Tokyo. When asked to explain the concept, this is what I said: Although I spent the first 13 years of my life on a farm in rural California, I have an affinity for massive cities. I find myself, alternatively, a city boy in the country and a country boy in the city.
