Weekend Guest

Four trips to SFO later and my weekend is gone. When douglas and I "wandered" into the Port of Oakland it proved sort of difficult (or at least time consuming) to actually get through all of the hoopla and to the cranes and stuff. The Port of San Francisco, by contrast, has almost no security at all. After picking a lucky number, we were able to wander right up to two huge loading cranes, a dry dock, and other assorted maritime equipment.

Saturday night, Liz made exact clay "prototypes" of the various food items we had for dinner. I would post recipes, but I'm getting bored with these, so you'll have to wait until I find something more inspiring. Dinner: salad followed by Cherry tomatoes chopped in half and topped with a tiny dab of tapenade (and again with a dust of lime zest), cucumber rounds with a sliver of smoked salmon and a pinch of dill resting on chevre, and sirloin wrapped around rocket and roasted red peppers.

Trying to find a copy of the manual for the used Nikon F I picked up this weekend unearthed the following gem: "The movie 'Blow Up' sold a Nikon F to everyone who wanted to make a statement as a sensitive artist or at least seem to. The Nikon F was cool, sexy, romantic, no other camera has ever come close!" Look ma, I'm a sensitive artist!

I took my sensitive artist self to the duck pond today. Sadly, the geese are gone. Looks like they've moved north for the summer.

P.S. g.a.c. does not exist.
