Keeping a Tally

Allergy season no longer keeps me up at night, but it does keep me in a steady state of half-daze.

I've begun a slow transition from one coast to the other. This process will likely have to be accelerated in the near future if I actually intend to make things work.

In the last five years I've lived in four states; in September I'll add Rhode Island to that list. I can't help but think about the last time I did this. More specifically, it surprises me that September seems very real whereas Austin seemed like some sort of extended roadtrip until the very moment that we got off the highway (and immediately got lost). Is this a testament to the more grounded days of the post-bubble economy? Or perhaps it's the manifestation of a switch from virtual to physical occupations? This is what I see: three years of something entirely different.

Next weekend will be busy. Trying to zip from here to there with little time is complicated by the need to exploit health insurance while I still have it. I would never want to work the front desk in a doctor's office, too much scheduling.

And so my time is occupied with keeping tabs, making plans, stocking up, writing notes, and thinking that maybe this will just go on forever. That is, I'm still very happy with the way my life is right now and I'm trying to stretch it.
