No matter how much I would like to feign ignorance of the word, when it comes down to it, California is my Home. I am unavoidably a Californian. This explains my insistance that all faucets be fully shut off when not in use, a habit for quick showers, methodical recycling, and a love of driving. 10/29/00: "Smelling garlic and wet earth in Gilroy, I am reminded: Yes, I'm back in California."
